Make sure your pharmacist gives you DuoNeb®
When you fill your prescription for DuoNeb®, check to make sure that your pharmacy gives you DuoNeb® and not a similar but different medicine. Pharmacies often substitute one drug for another. In some cases, the pharmacist may actually compound a mix of albuterol and ipratropium.
However, DuoNeb® is a unique formulation. It is the only combination of albuterol and ipratropium approved by the FDA for use in a nebulizer. No other product will work exactly like DuoNeb®.
So, before you leave the drugstore, check to make sure that:
  • The packaging bears the DuoNeb® trademark
  • The package seal has not been broken
If there is another name on the package or if the seal has been broken, do not accept it. Ask the pharmacist for another package. If the pharmacy will not meet your request, call your doctor at once.

Please read this important safety information about DuoNeb®
DuoNeb® is indicated for the treatment of bronchospasm associated with COPD for patients requiring more than one bronchodilator. In a 12-week clinical study, the most common adverse reactions reported with DuoNeb® Inhalation Solution were chest pain, pharyngitis, diarrhea, bronchitis, nausea, and leg cramps.
Albuterol sulfate can have a significant cardiovascular effect, significant hypokalemia, and the potential life-threatening paradoxical bronchospasm. Caution is advised in patients with convulsive disorders, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, narrow-angle glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, or bladder-neck obstruction. Co-administration of DuoNeb® Inhalation Solution and other sympathomimetic agents may increase the risk of adverse cardiovascular effects.
